How to Style Your Hair: Beach Waves

One new trend is that everyone is wearing there hair in loose curls, Which may look difficult but is not at all. First you start off by blow drying your hair with a medium round brush. You take small sections and roll the brush all the way up to the root, then you hold for a few seconds, with hot air, then you want to lock to style in by hitting it with the cool air setting. Then you would take each section (which should already be somewhat wavy or curly!) and pin it up with either a bobby pin or a curl clip pin, as you go along. Spray each section with hairspray. If your hair type is fine and most blow dried styles don't hold then there is also another way to achieve this look. Blow dry hair with any type of volume product, then use a 1-2 inch curling iron (depending on length, short to medium use 1 inch, long use 2 inch iron) Curl each section of hair, then roll it up into one curl, pin up with the bobby pins or pin curl clips. spray as you go along. When you are finished let sit for about 15minutes to really lock in the style. Remove all the pins. You may need to run your fingers through the curls to break them up a little bit. Then if you like volume tease at the crown of your head. For the finishing touch spray with some more hairspray.

Solutions for Damaged Hair

There are many things that can cause your hair to become damaged. Things that you wouldn't even think of, such as the weather, the pool, or beach. Blow drying or styling your hair with a curling iron or a flat iron. but have no fear there are many ways to also fix dry damaged hair There are many products and home remedies that can help repair your hair. A good place to start is by performing a conditioning treatment 1-2 times a week (depending on the level of damage!) you can do this by using a good conditioner such as Biolage Ultra Hydrating conditioning balm, or another great product is by Logic's, it's called Logic's DNA Age Revitalize Shampoo and conditioner. First step is to wash your hair with a good hydrating shampoo, Then apply the conditioner, you should then twist your hair into a loose bun. Then you should cover your head with a shower cap to lock in the conditioner. If hair is really damaged you could even leave it over night. Another solution to this problem is getting your hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks. This will help get rid of all the dry broken ends. To help prevent damage from any kind of styling tool they sell many products which can help protect your hair from the heat. Some products that work really well are. Aveda's Brilliant, Damage control heat spray you can use this before you blow dry. It even helps to protect your hair from sun damage.

There are many other great products to help treat damaged hair. One really good site is http://www.aveda.com/ they offer many products for dry damaged hair they even have their own line for it, called Dry Remedy.

Hair Myths

There are many myths when it comes to hairstyling. One myth is that if you trim your hair that it will grow faster, This is false. Getting a trim will help to remove spilt ends and help prevent hair from breaking.

Another myth is that your hair will build up immunity after using the same shampoo and conditioner. This is false. Your shampoo and conditioner may seem like it stops working but it is just a build up of product. It is recommended that you should wash your hair atleast once a week with a clarifying shampoo. www.SalonSavings.com/Biolage. Just incase anyone does not know what a clarifying shampoo is, it is a shampoo that removes all impurities from the hair such as dirt, oil, products, and even cigerette smoke. It is not good to use a clarifying shampoo everyday because it will strip color out of color treated hair, and it will also dry out the hair.

Another myth is that if you brush your hair to much that your hair will fall out. This is also false. There is nothing bad about brushing your hair, as long as you are using a good brush or comb (I've found from use the the Aveda paddle brush works really well!) and not ripping it through the knots and tangles.
